12/30 Christmas in Palo Alto and Brunch with the Yangs

Rich picked us up at the airport in our minivan. We had lent it to Jim and Joyce while we were gone, and Joyce fell in love with it, which is inevitable for a mom. Jim and Joyce were both feeling sick, so we weren't sure if they were going to make it to our house the next day for brunch.

First thing the next morning, we had our own little Christmas. We opened our gifts for each other and gifts from friends and local family.

In the last photo, we are holding our favorite gifts. The kids' gifts were from Santa. I'm holding a wallet from Hansel since my old one was falling apart, and Hansel is holding a handprint Beck made at preschool.

Jim still made it for brunch, and Rich came in Joyce's place. Jim was looking a bit green by the time they made it to our house. Avery was so cute. She would follow Mathis around, and she made a game of giving him his pacifier.
