6/20 Happy Father's Day

Before Father's Day, I took the kids to a paint-your-own-pottery studio using a groupon-like coupon I had bought to make something for Hansel for Father's Day. I had the kids put their handprints in the middle of a large plate one on top of the other in shades of green and paint Xs and Os all around them and then put their footprints on the back one on top of the other. Mathis hated the printing experience. We did it on 6/11. I told a little white lie to Hansel that day to explain why we were a little late coming home after picking Beck up from school.

We gave Hansel the gift in the morning before we set out for the day. We took Caltrain up to Hillsdale mall and had lunch at Macaroni Grill. I think I've said this before but the name just does not go with the atmosphere of the restaurant. Macaroni Grill sounds like a Chili's -- super casual joint, but it's more formal. After we went to the Barnes and Noble next door. I went home first with Mathis, so he could get a decent nap. Later, Mathis and I picked Hansel and the kids up at the train station.

I dressed the boys in their matching shirts (I had bought Beck's over a year ago and the other was a gift to Mathis for his first birthday), and I asked Hansel to wear his black drum t-shirt. And then I dressed Maile in her "Big Sisters Rock" shirt. Kind of an FYI in case anyone's wondering why the boys are both wearing black.

Later the kids had some fun with their water guns.
