Since we were planning to spend Christmas in DC with the Eastcoast Lynns, we did not get a real tree. Instead we put up our 4-ft plastic tree and decorated it with lights, ornaments, and garland. The kids loved decorating.
After they decorated the tree, they put the ornaments on our small wooden centerpiece tree.
